I have noticed that a lot of web designers use images to display the main contents of there web sites.
This practice is very bad for a number of reasons.
The main one being that people with non graphical browsers and people who use Screen Reading software can not
read the content. Yes it is true to say that there are some reasons, (but they are very trivial reasons) as to
why some designers choose to use graphics to display the contents of their web pages. The main argument being
that it will prevent people from stealing the content.
Now as we all should know, nothing will stop people from stealing or copying your content, if they want, they
will get hold of it.
Some things you could do to make the content more accessible for people using text only browsers could include,
placing alt text on all the images with the same information that appears in the image.
As this may be a very tedious task, the best thing to do would be to provide the information as normal text or
if you really don?t want people to copy or steal your content, then the best thing you could probably do is not
publish it on the web at all.
